Do I need to know CAD or use design software?
No. Laser Quote never asks for a file. You enter cut time, material cost, and a few machine numbers — the same inputs you'd already know from running the job once.
Is my data safe if I never make an account?
Yes. On the Free plan nothing ever leaves your browser — Settings and Machine Profiles are stored in localStorage only. Nothing touches a server until you choose to sign up.
What happens if I get a new laser?
On Plus and Premium, add a new Machine Profile any time — start from a wattage preset or enter your own numbers, no limit on how many you track. The Free calculator is capped at 1 Machine Profile to keep the always-free plan simple.
Why is the Free calculator limited to 1 layer?
Single-material jobs get a full, genuinely usable calculator for free. Multi-layer jobs — more complex, higher-value work — are the upgrade trigger for Plus, which also unlocks unlimited Machine Profiles.
Can I use this on my phone at the workbench?
Yes — both the calculator and the dashboard work on mobile.
Is there a contract or lock-in?
No. Plus and Premium are billed monthly or annually, cancel any time from the Billing page — your data stays either way.
What's the difference between Plus and Premium?
Plus gets you cloud sync, unlimited Machine Profiles, multi-layer quotes, customer records, branded quote emails, and a view-only link your customer can open to see their quote. Premium adds an interactive accept/decline link with live "viewed" tracking, custom Terms & Conditions the customer must acknowledge before accepting, PDF and CSV export, and drops the "Powered by Laser Quote" footer.
